ZKA Response to Standard & Poor’s Proposed Revised Criteria for Rating Banks
The financial crisis revealed a large-scale failure to correctly assess individual risks and identify systemic risk. In response, extensive measures to regulate financial markets have been adopted worldwide, focusing primarily on the banking system. It is therefore only logical, against this backdrop, that S&P should review its criteria for rating banks. It is also appropriate that more weight should be attached to systemic risk.
